I just wanted to announce this to the world... I am now a germaphobe.

It's not one of those irrational fears... I think that my physical illness due to my realization can attest to my actual fear.

People are vile. I realized that today. People are downright disgusting creatures. In the last half an hour I've witnessed: many sneezers/coughers who didn't cover their mouths/noses in lecture, four people spitting on the ground, a cafeteria worker not wearing gloves or washing her hands between making meals, one massive coughing fit followed by massive amounts of spitting on the ground, and a dozen used tissues on the bus. How disgusting are people? I can't even EAT, I'm so positively disgusted.

I have just washed the doorknobs in our house.

And washed my hands twice.

I know I'm not a hypochondriac. I don't have "medical student's disease," which my health prof has warned us about. I know that, rationally, I've been exposed to uncountable amounts of bacterium before in restaurants, and walked amongst spit all of my life. But if you are aware of these things, and KNOW of the diseases/infections you can GET from spit on the ground and not washing ones hands after going to the washroom, you have a responsibility to try to change things. Well, I don't plan on like, screaming at people who spit on the ground, but I am looking out for ME now. No more passive personal health care. I will remain healthy and not catch THOSE NASTY PEOPLE'S diseases.

Thank you.

PS: Go wash your hands. I know I will.

Wait a sec...people spit on the floor OF LECTURE HALLS?
That's just gross!

Is this all the stuff you learned in your plagues and something class at school? I'm not exactly a germaphobe, but when your mother's a nurse, you get used to certain things...like always washing your hands with soap, rinsing/scrubbing for 20 seconds, blah blah blah...

:D
