"No More Teachers..."

Today was the last day of class and I feel relieved. However, I know this relief will be short-lived... I have SO much to read and study before my four exams at the end of the month. Must read Wuthering Heights, Byron's 30+ page (in 10 point font) poem "Manfred," Melville's "Billy Budd" as well as any other poems from the Romantic poetry class that I skimmed over. So much to read. I also want to revise my other 2 stories for my fiction workshop, maybe post them... I'm so impressed with how my writing has improved in the past few months.

This school year was great. At times it was challenging. No, most of the time it was. I met some great people this year, but also some friends shocked me with their irresponsibility and negative attitude regarding school and themselves. Some people need to grow up. Anyway. I read some awesome novels, but Dystopian fiction was definitely the best course of the year.

Now to start thinking about next year...

Just when you think you've caught a break, or time to breathe, you're swept up in the million other things that need your attention. I've already mapped out a tentative schedule for next year also, but that's because I'm a huge nerd, and Glendon expects everyone to turn in an advising document in order to receive an enrollment time.

Argh...

I can't wait to see you! :)

Hello Gillian, Dad...

The courses that interest me are Ondaatje (!!), Postmodern Poetry, Literature from page to screen (or whatever it's called), Courtship literature, South African Literature... There were more (I'm taking 8 courses). I was also considering the Friday Cinema course (I took the other half over the summer - very interesting!), but it won't really work when I go to see Chris at grad school since I'll be gone all weekend (and from what I can see, I'll have Monday (until a night class) free and Thursday free after noon, with Wednesday off). I took that Victorian poetry and prose course last year and really enjoyed it. The prose aspect isn't as interesting (most of it is nonfiction and a little dull) but the poetry was great. The person who taught it is gone though, so that may have changed.

Thanks for the kind words, Dad :)
The lobster... well... I just enjoy drawing him...? And he looks tasty. It was inspired by a second of Jerry Springer that I saw over the weekend where two women were fighting over marrying a dwarf... I don't know how the lobster comes into it though.
