I hope you don't become an old man with a driving hat...
Chris and I had a great week at the cottage. Like I had thought, we both read a lot (and I finished The Historian...scary book). Chris taught me how to kayak, and how to play Scrabble. Maybe in another ten years I can beat him? (just kidding). I enjoyed the time with Chris, and knowing that we won't kill each other when we make dinners in the future.
Also, I found the most fitting wine. It was from South Africa, and it caught my eye because of its ostrich on the label. Apparently, the wine celebrates the "resiliency of the ostrich." I've kept the bottle, for sentimental reasons.
I have developed some kind of an infected taste bud. It's so painful, because it's under my tongue on that part that moves your tongue, so when it moves, it kills me. It's getting bigger and worse. I've looked it up, and apparently I should go to the doctor (or risk losing the taste bud altogether). I'll see how it is on Monday, and I may make an appointment. I would like to know how this happened, too. It's not like people get infected taste buds on a regular basis, especially not under the tongue?
I got my Hawksley cd, and opened it the second I walked in from my vacation. I look forward to singing these new/old HW songs for many years to come. I apologize in advance.
And lastly, we are at the start of a new school year. I'm anxious, nervous and excited. I look forward to reading and learning but 4 essays to write is going to SUCK.
And Kate... Just a month left until we dance like we're seizuring. And how goes House of Leaves?

i enjoyed reading the house of leaves. a very good way to end my summer. i was going to post a review on livejournal but i've been too lazy to write out what i wrote in the margins & post-it notes of the pages. haha. im such a dork. dorks rock.
