"I've got a fever, and the only cure is more cowbell."

One month of school is finished, and I'm feeling good as of now. Lots of readings (as expected), but my exams aren't all bunched together, and the essays are spread throughout November and December. The Psych is very interesting but I feel so bogged down in definitions already, and we've only finished two chapters. But I've read a chapter ahead, and I'm ahead in all of the readings, so I hope I can keep this up.

This blog is so uninteresting.

I'm really looking forward to the new Franz Ferdinand cd that's coming out soon (I'm counting the days), and the concert. Also, Chris and I are going to two operas in the next two weeks - it'll be nice to feel cultured again, as it's been so long since the opera season ended. We're also thinking of going to see "Goodness," a play by my writing teacher (Michael Redhill). It looks interesting, and, knowing some of his other works, I expect it'll be great.

I have also been making cartoons recently, which is funny because I can NOT draw at all. They are about some events that have occurred in the last few weeks, or conversations overheard, etc. I may end up posting some here, but email/message me if you're interested.

"This are NOT information disk." -sign at my university above what, from what I can gather, is not an information desk

Sigh.

It's always better on holidays.

I hope you don't become an old man with a driving hat...

Chris and I had a great week at the cottage. Like I had thought, we both read a lot (and I finished The Historian...scary book). Chris taught me how to kayak, and how to play Scrabble. Maybe in another ten years I can beat him? (just kidding). I enjoyed the time with Chris, and knowing that we won't kill each other when we make dinners in the future.

Also, I found the most fitting wine. It was from South Africa, and it caught my eye because of its ostrich on the label. Apparently, the wine celebrates the "resiliency of the ostrich." I've kept the bottle, for sentimental reasons.

I have developed some kind of an infected taste bud. It's so painful, because it's under my tongue on that part that moves your tongue, so when it moves, it kills me. It's getting bigger and worse. I've looked it up, and apparently I should go to the doctor (or risk losing the taste bud altogether). I'll see how it is on Monday, and I may make an appointment. I would like to know how this happened, too. It's not like people get infected taste buds on a regular basis, especially not under the tongue?

I got my Hawksley cd, and opened it the second I walked in from my vacation. I look forward to singing these new/old HW songs for many years to come. I apologize in advance.

And lastly, we are at the start of a new school year. I'm anxious, nervous and excited. I look forward to reading and learning but 4 essays to write is going to SUCK.

And Kate... Just a month left until we dance like we're seizuring. And how goes House of Leaves?

Have a good week everyone.

Exciting news... Hawksley Workman is releasing previously unreleased songs he wrote prior to his first cd (For Him and the Girls). I am expecting my copy of Before We Were Security Guards sometime within the next two weeks. Did I mention that this is exciting? ....I'm excited.

Chris and I are leaving tomorrow for the cottage. I look forward to being lazy, learning to kayak, trying to cook (!!), reading (I plan on tackling The Historian, maybe some Findley), and hopefully writing something new for my Fiction course in the Spring (as the portfolio is due...soon).

For those of you unlucky people who start school/are moving this week, good luck!
