Don't you hate it when you're so bored and know that you should be doing something, but then you rationalize your unproductivity by saying you're too bored to do something?

That's me right now.

So instead of reading as much as a page of Wuthering Heights before bed, I'm mindlessly flipping channels, waiting for someone - anyone - to come online and save me from boredom.

I've looked through the English course calendar for next year. I already know that I want to take four courses next year per term - that's all I need and I don't think that I want to be this stressed this time next year. Unfortunately, I've taken far too many courses in English in my first three years - there are only hard, (and largely uninteresting pre-1900) C and D level courses available. And a lot of the D's are very interesting. Come on - Ondaatje, Postmodern poetry and a very interesting Cinema course all in one year. I'm destined to be enlightened but be crazy busy. Looks like I'll have one class Monday (late) and no Wednesday classes in either session - that is, if I go crazy route and take the 4 Englishes. Sigh. I know I should take another kind of course, but I don't want to kill my brain like I did this year with psych.

Oh, Hawksley greatness. After 1 1/2 weeks of begging the new HW cd to arrive (and it NEVER did), it came on Friday when I was out of town with Chris. Unfair. It prompted this cartoon:



Oh well. I guess the mailman can keep his life and job.

New York was fun - it felt so much like Toronto, only huge. Imagine downtown Toronto only multiplied by 100+ blocks. Insane. If we move there, I'm going to feel so overwhelmed. I mean, I get lost in Toronto... and I've lived here all my life (even though, as Chris is quick to point out and would if I didn't add this, I rarely visited the downtown area until only recently). Oh well. New adventures.

My highlights of our trip:
- delicious New York pizza at all hours of the night, accompanied by cheap drinks
- quiet (!!) library, except when police/firetrucks/ambulances drove by
- constant honking but relatively fast walkers (and those who weren't could be dodged fairly easily, except when they took up the whole sidewalks)
- meeting potential friends for coming years at Chris' school
- lots of great popcorn
- great concert on Saturday, beautiful building but being seated amongst dancers = bad news
- finding another great kind of cinnamon candy (which may/may not be available in Canada...)
- watching the perfect, fluffy, white clouds disappear under the plane on the ride back to Toronto

I guess I can always add more. But that's a good start. :)

Good March, everyone!

One month left of school... I'm starting to feel the stress, but there isn't too much left. I have 2 1/2 novels remaining in Gothic, and I have to read Paradise Lost (I'm both interested and terrified). I have to write two more stories (one for fiction workshop and one for my Gothic final "essay"), as well as one more essay (which is due, unfortunately, the day after Chris and I get back from New York).

What's new, though? Nothing huge. I participated in a scary psychology experiment on Tuesday, which didn't quite work out (the machine, it turns out, couldn't find my brain waves...?). Chris and I are going to check out a potential banquet hall for the wedding tomorrow - it looks beautiful from the pictures, and the wedding package they offer seems great. I hope this turns out - imagine, getting the hall and the majority of the other small things (invitations, cake, music, table settings, photography potentially) all in one go. I'm thrilled. Now, for the dress... I'm thinking... blue? Hehe.

I was thinking about posting a wedding rap, but I got lazy and I have to get ready for work. Maybe later.
