Oh work, how I loathe thee.

So I had my yearly assessment tonight at work. After being told that I'm a "valuable member of the sales team," I was told that I not only lacked incentive, but I also have lost the personality that they had hired 2 1/2 years ago. Apparently, I was bubbly when I was hired. If I had to describe myself (or have others describe me, even) "BUBBLY" is NOT a word that would be used. At all. I have no idea what the manager was thinking. And the manager said that, due to a miscommunication a year ago, I received a "Doesn't Meet Standards" on Shelving product (which I am asked to teach new sales staff, by the way) because I misunderstood that the "alcove" doesn't only involve the physical alcove itself but the whole of the front of the store. Who knew?

So one miscommunication and many assumptions about my lack of knowledge of the store's product has resulted in a lower "score" and lower raise, despite my accounting for and explaining how the manager is incorrect in the assessment.

Moral of the story: quit. now. (well, in a few months).

"The founding father [of Korea, in 2333 BCE] was, according to legend, the product of the mating of a god and a bear, which we can be thankful wasn't caught on video."

Franztastic

And the concert blog begins.

We had fun. Lots of laughs trying to find the concert though. My heart must have stopped like, 5 times today on the car ride alone. Kate, you're a good driver for the most part, but holy crap, don't kill us before even gettin to the show. Hehe. Getting lost and found was fun, too, especially because I was really and truly lost. With 20 minutes to spare, we got to the show, bought a shirt and grabbed our great seats. Lots of pictures (that hopefully will turn out), singing, dancing.

Thanks for a great night, Kate.

The Constantines next, I promise.

Following the leader...

Rules of the game: Post 5 Weird and Random facts about yourself, then at the end list the names of 5 people who are next in line to do this.

1)Everything I own is alphabetized: DVDs, CDs, Books. I don't really know where this came from (working at the bookstore?), but I think it's just easy to find things. My family makes endless fun of me for it, and often rearrange my DVDs to see how long it will take for me to notice.

2)I'm completely obsessed with Minesweeper. If I'm on my computer, no matter if it's only a minute to check an email, I am compelled to play a few games. I know it's horrible, but I play constantly during my Psych lecture online (while I do pay attention...) but just watching the prof stand there and talk is just booooring. I'm currently attempting to beat my Expert score of 136 seconds.

3)I gave myself my own nickname (Deedle Dee)when I was very young because I couldn't pronounce my own name. It has stuck, and my mom often calls me "Dee".

4)I can crack my elbows. And I do. All the time, despite grimaces.

5)When I get really cold, I develop little white and orange dots on my arms and legs. I don't really know why.

Ok. So the list of others that have to share in this misery by coming up with their own lists (if you're bored and want something to do): Chris, Kat, Alex, Gillian.

"If God made the world and Adam and Eve... where do the dinosaurs come into play?" -posting on my class's discussion board

So... much... reading. I've been printing out this week's Bible readings and it has taken me half an hour. Crazy. I've also been mad-reading for three other courses, which means I have 2 books almost finished (about 50-100 pages each remaining in The Stone Angel, and The Centaur) and just started The Chrysalids (which I'm liking already). Not to mention, a paper due next monday, an exam this thursday and a huuuge psych exam next friday (at least I get the earliest start time - 3pm). Enough bitching, right? Good.

I'm liking the Franz Ferdinand cd! It's so lively, like their first cd, makes for good dancing next tuesday!! (Speaking of which, we must decide on details, Kat, email me or I'll email you soon). But what else is new? I have no idea...

It's Thanksgiving today, and ideally I should get a ton done. You'd figure long weekend = massive reading, right? Hmm... when you're stuffed with turkey or simply stuffed in the nose, that doesn't work out too well. But I've managed as much as possible without my brain being too stuffed with knowledge and throwing off my balance.

Must continue reading now. Ta ta.
